Strange New Worlds and Captain Pike

The Strange New Worlds and Captain Pike Reading List currently includes the Strange New Worlds novels which have included references to elements of the wider Lit-verse, or to each other. The majority of Strange New Worlds and Captain Pike stories are stand-alone, and most can easily be read in any order. Accordingly there are no obvious "jumping on points" which the other series can be said to have.

Besides the actual Strange New Worlds novels, several additional The Original Series and Discovery novels and comics have featured Pike, Number One, or the Enterprise before James Kirk's command over the decades, and are listed here. These stories are connected due various references in other books, or to other books. These references are mentioned in the notes.

Three Pike or Enterprise related short stories or novellas are also connected: two from Enterprise Logs (which shares references among several connected novels),  and one from Deep Space Nine: The Lives of Dax (which ties into the Deep Space Nine Post-Finale Series. In addition, a reference in part of Star Trek #500 connects a Strange New Worlds story from that work. Also of note are the two novels from the Original Lit-verse featuring the Enterprise under Captain April. An explanation of the Original Lit-verse is given on The Original Series Reading List page.

Since the Strange New Worlds and Captain Pike Reading List does not have a main Lit-verse storyline, as many of the other series do, the orange denotes the expanded storyline of the television series. The light orange denotes the connected novel which only marginally expands upon the television series. The dark blue denotes the stories most important to the rest of the Lit-verse. Light blue denotes the more expanded storyline. Read these for other works closely connected to the Lit-verse. Dark green denotes the two Original Lit-verse connected novels. The white denotes every other connected story, regardless of continuity.

As always, not every reference to every other story is mentioned, just the one I chose as most important to show the expanding Lit-verse web.
