Vanguard and Seekers

The Vanguard and Seekers Reading List is centered around two related series of novels. The Vanguard series told the complete story of Starbase 47, from beginning to end, interweaving with the events of The Original Series. Afterwards, a spinoff series, Seekers, was launched which followed the continuing adventures of the USS Endeavor and the USS Sagittarius. Therefore there are a few good jumping on points below.

In addition to the main novel lines, three novels and ebooks in other series crossover with Vanguard and Seekers: Starfleet Corps of Engineers: What's Past- Distant Early Warning, The Original Series: Harm's Way, and The Original Series: Agents of Influence. Also included are several Starfleet Corps of Engineers stories which feature the USS Lovell, which appeared repeatedly in the Vanguard series.

Reading Vanguard in chronological order leads to a few difficulties that almost no other Lit-verse series does. An anthology published midway through the series presents stories which take place at several different points in the storyline. One of these novellas takes place before everything except the prologue to Book 1. So in this case, I have listed that prologue separately.

Dark blue denotes the primary novel narrative. Read these for the bare bones story. Light blue denotes the expanded storyline. Read any or all of these to go a bit deeper.

As always, not every reference to every other story is mentioned, just the one I chose as most important to show the expanding Lit-verse web.
